Welcome to the Department of Academic Initiatives in the Division of Student Affairs.
Academic Initiatives supports collaborative programs for students and finds opportunities for partnerships with and beyond Student Affairs. A primary objective of Academic Initiatives is to better integrate campus departments and faculty with the work of the Division of Student Affairs, creating a bridge between academics and student support services.
Academic Initiatives facilitates student academic and leadership opportunities, community engagement, and research experience, building on strong programs already existing in the Division of Student Affairs. Academic Initiatives's partners include EOP, CLAS, OSL, Wellness, Financial Aid, Admissions, and others.
Directed by the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Academic Programs, Academic Initiatives is the home of the Clyde Woods Scholars Program, Michael D. Young Interns, Gene and Susan Lucas Undergraduate Research Fund, Black Resource Committee, as well as providing academic support for the Promise Scholars Program.
Academic Initiatives is housed on the 3rd floor of the Student Resource Building.
